I attended a symposium more than five years ago at the Italian Culture Institute in New York. The whole affair was quite stuffy and so was he. I imagine it was not because of how he truly is, but by the circumstances he was in.

He also promoted “How To Travel With A Salmon, and Other Essays.” He respect his work tremendously, especially his essays on semiotics. I’m also a big fan of his prose and have read “The Name of the Rose” several times.
